Rome Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Thank you for all the support we have received these past four weeks. We really have had a good start to the school year, and it is hard to believe we are already at first quarter midterm. We look forward to many more good weeks ahead.

The purpose of this letter is to let you know that we were informed yesterday of an individual affiliated with Rome School that has tested positive for Covid-19.  We have been in contact with the Jefferson County Health Department and they have assured us that there will be no need for contact tracing or for us to change our schedule. This was made possible because the individual self-quarantined after exposure and has not been at school all week. We appreciate that the individual quarantined themselves so as not to expose anyone else.   Because of that fact, school will continue on Monday with the same schedule as the past couple of weeks.

We are thankful that you as parents have been adhering to the guidance set forth to us by the Illinois Department of Public Health. If we use this guidance and a little common sense, maybe we can continue to safely have in-person learning without any interruptions. Please continue to be diligent with your children, and to monitor them for any symptoms. Thank you again for supporting the Rome Grade School and have a great rest of the weekend.

Sincerely,

Stephen L. Phillips
