Dear Rome Families,

I do want to thank all of you for the cooperation so far this year and tell you how much we appreciate all of your efforts to help us keep everyone safe and healthy.

The purpose of this letter is to let you know that Rome School has had an individual test positive for Covid-19. We are working with the Jefferson County Health Department to get in touch with those who are considered close contacts of the individual. Those that are considered close contacts have been contacted or are in the process of being contacted. At this point, only one individual has tested positive, so school will resume tomorrow as scheduled.

Please continue to be diligent in keeping your students home if they display any of the following symptoms; Fever of 100.4 or higher, new onset of moderate to severe headache, shortness of breath, new cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain from unknown causes, new congestion or runny nose, new loss of sense of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue from unknown causes, muscle or body aches. Thank you for your cooperation, and working together, we will do our best to keep everyone at Rome safe and healthy.

Sincerely,

Stephen L. Phillips, Superintendent
