⚾️Baseball/Softball Schedule Update 🥎 Due to heat concerns, the baseball game scheduled for tonight at Rome vs Summersville has been cancelled. Softball will be played at 6:00pm at Cusumono's Field in Mt. Vernon. There will be no bus.

Reminder!
When attending an event at Rome, spectators/families need to park on Rome property ONLY. Please refrain from parking at Rome Meadows for events.

Schedule Updates:

🥎 Softball will now practice from 6:00-7:30 due to the heat.
👟 Cross Country will remain after school and go in the gym.

Baseball and Softball update: The baseball and softball games for tonight against Summersville have been postponed due to heat. We will be rescheduling for Friday, August 14 at 4:30. Games will still be played at Rome

Cross Country Information!

We are getting very close to the beginning of our athletic seasons at Rome! Please make sure that if you attend any event, you utilize the Rome parking lot.
We ask that you please refrain from parking at Rome Meadows.

School starts next week and we have some new faces in the building! We are excited to welcome Mr. Carson Williams to our Rome Grade School family. He will be teaching 4th grade for the 2026-2027 school year! We’re so glad to have Mr. Williams at Rome and can't wait to see all the great things he will accomplish. We are also excited to welcome Ms. Linnea Waggoner to Rome. She is Rome's new Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and General Music teacher. With her extensive music experience, we are sure to see great things from Ms. Waggoner and the Rome students.

A message from the Nurse's Office:

Nurse April will be at a table in front of the gym for a brief period on the first day of school to accept medication forms and medication. If there have been any changes in your child's health condition over the summer, please call or email her prior to the 1st day of school.

If your child has a food allergy, the state requires the completion of a Meal Modification form annually. The form must be completed and on file at school prior to the 1st day of student attendance. Attached is a copy of this form.

💚You won't want to miss this! 💛

There will be an athletic interest meeting on Monday, August 10 at 5:45 in the gym at Rome School. This is for any parent and student in grades 3-8 that might be interested in participating in sports this school year. We will be going over athletic expectations and what sports are available. This meeting will be with the Athletic Director and is not mandatory to attend. This is the first year for this meeting and it should not interfere with the "Back to School Night" activities.

We CAN'T WAIT for you to be back in the building! Our summer custodial staff has been hard at work to make sure Rome is ready for the first day of school!! 🥳 A HUGE "Thank you" to Andy, Chris, Dottie, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Jolly for all of their hard work this summer! The list of projects is long- but totally worth sharing: -Both of the kindergarten classrooms have had the old unit ventilators removed and now have fresh new carpet and cove base. -Krista Jackson's first grade classroom has also had the old unit ventilator removed. It was the last classroom unit to go! -All of the other classroom and office carpets have been shampooed. -The door knobs (K-5 hallways) and door levers (6-8 hallway) have all been replaced with commercial grade door levers. -The junior high hallway and classrooms have all been painted. The classroom floors have been stripped and waxed. -The bathrooms by the lift have been painted and have had new toilet partitions installed. -The bathrooms in the cafeteria have been painted. -The kitchen floor (by the dishwasher) has been painted. -The kitchen has been painted -The cafeteria has been painted. -Additional playground rubber mulch has been added. -New wheels and hardware has been added to the playground gate, and it moves with ease now!
