Boys Basketball practice for Monday 9/23, is cancelled due to both cross country and baseball having meet/game.
Reminder, the pee wee interest forms that were sent home last week to students in grades 3-5 are due by Friday, September 20
Picture Day is next Wednesday, September 18th. We will be taking yearbook portraits, class group pictures, cross country, baseball, and softball!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we start the new school year, I want to remind everyone of the importance of safety in our parking lot during drop-off times.
Please do not pass other vehicles in the parking lot while dropping off your children in the morning. This rule is in place to ensure the safety of all our students, staff, and families. It is crucial that everyone enters the school safely.

Students will be dismissed today, August 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause. All activities that are scheduled for after school are cancelled also.
We are having difficulty with some of our air-conditioning in the school building. Classroom temperatures will be assessed again at approximately 10:00 a.m. and if deemed necessary, students may be dismissed at 12:00 p.m. today. Another message will be sent shortly after 10:00 a.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Due to heat, the baseball and softball games against Wayne City scheduled for today are canceled. We are attempting to reschedule.
Cross Country practice will still be held from 3:30-5:00 but will take place in the gym.
Due to the heat, Rome Grade School is canceling all outside athletic activities today, August 27.
Activities that take place in the gym will take place as scheduled.
The baseball and softball game scheduled for tomorrow, August 27 against Willow Grove has been cancelled. We will now play Willow Grove on September 4. The games will still be played at Rome with a 4:30 start.

Coach Tate would like to remind boys interested in trying out for basketball that they will be held tonight, Monday, August 26 and tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27. They will be from 6:30 - 8:00.

Job Vacancies!
This a reminder that today’s softball and baseball games against Field will begin at 4:30 at Rome. We apologize for any confusion.
We will be participating in a Law Enforcement Lockdown Drill on Friday, September 6th. A letter with more information is going home today including an opt out request. If you would like to request that your child opts out of the drill, please sign and return before Wednesday, September 4th.
Baseball Schedule Update!
The baseball game that was canceled last week with OBR will be played on September 5. Game time is 4:30 at Rome.
Coach Tate would like to remind boys interested in trying out for basketball that they will be held Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27. They will be from 6:30 - 8:00. Please make sure to have a sports physical turned in to Nurse April before August 26.
