A message from Mrs. Morris:
Next week, students in grades 5-8 may begin signing up for band,strings, and chorus. Students will receive information to bring home, but parents/guardians may email me and I will email the forms directly to them. (4th Grade will be starting at a later date.)
One of our school buses was in an accident this morning; however, we are very thankful that there were NO students on the bus. There were no reported injuries.
Rome buses are running a little behind schedule this morning! We are working on getting routes covered!
The baseball game scheduled for today, August 15th, against Opdyke has been cancelled. Softball practice for tonight has also been cancelled.
We regret to inform everyone that the bounce houses and outside activities scheduled for tonight have been canceled due to the weather. We would still LOVE to see everyone at Open House from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Rome’s Back to School Night is this evening the Booster Club and Athletic Department will both have tables in the halls. Please stop by the Booster table to purchase some Rome merchandise! Mr. Smith will have a table with important information about sports for the upcoming school year and to answer any of your questions. There will be a packet of forms for any parent whose child wishes to participate in sports activities from 3rd grade to 8th grade.
Boys Cross Country Tryouts will be Friday, August 16 from 3:30 to 5:00
Girls Cross Country Tryouts will be Friday, August 16 from 5:00 to 6:30
Tryouts will also be Saturday, August 17 for both boys and girls from
8:00 - 9:30.
Ready or Not....
Our first full day of school is TOMORROW with a 3:15 p.m. dismissal.
We will have bounce houses and activities outside from 5:00-6:00 followed by Open House from 6:00-7:00!

As we begin a new school year, it is a pleasure to introduce our newest Rome team members.
Tracie Steward comes to us with many years of teaching experience. She is our new 8th grade teacher and is eager to meet her new students.
Michelle Hoffman has taught Kindergarten for several years and is very excited to begin a new school year at Rome.
Vicki Brudnicki and Ralyn Longley are both joining us as paraprofessionals this year. We know they will have a positive impact on the Rome students.
Dottie Dalaney is also joining us this school year as a custodian. She is thrilled to be part of the Rome team, and we are thrilled to have her as well.

Cross Country practice for tomorrow, August 9th, and Monday, August 12th, have been cancelled.
Tryouts will begin Wednesday, August 14th, right after school!
The softball game scheduled for August 12th against Raccoon has been moved to Rome. 🥎
Nurse April will be in the office on Tuesday, August 13th for you to call and speak with about any updated medical information on your child.
On Wednesday, August 14th, Nurse April will be sitting at a table outside of the gym doors between 8 and 8:30 am to accept new medication orders and medication for your child. Please note that the school must have a new medication order signed by your child's physician and by the parent at the beginning of every school year before we can accept any prescription or over-the-counter medication for your child to administer at school. Blank medication forms can be picked up in the school office.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of rain, softball practice will be cancelled for tonight, August 1.
