Cross Country practice will still be held from 3:30-5:00 but will take place in the gym.

Activities that take place in the gym will take place as scheduled.
The baseball and softball game scheduled for tomorrow, August 27 against Willow Grove has been cancelled. We will now play Willow Grove on September 4. The games will still be played at Rome with a 4:30 start.

Coach Tate would like to remind boys interested in trying out for basketball that they will be held tonight, Monday, August 26 and tomorrow, Tuesday, August 27. They will be from 6:30 - 8:00.

Job Vacancies!
This a reminder that today’s softball and baseball games against Field will begin at 4:30 at Rome. We apologize for any confusion.
We will be participating in a Law Enforcement Lockdown Drill on Friday, September 6th. A letter with more information is going home today including an opt out request. If you would like to request that your child opts out of the drill, please sign and return before Wednesday, September 4th.
Baseball Schedule Update!
The baseball game that was canceled last week with OBR will be played on September 5. Game time is 4:30 at Rome.
Coach Tate would like to remind boys interested in trying out for basketball that they will be held Monday, August 26 and Tuesday, August 27. They will be from 6:30 - 8:00. Please make sure to have a sports physical turned in to Nurse April before August 26.
A message from Mrs. Morris:
Next week, students in grades 5-8 may begin signing up for band,strings, and chorus. Students will receive information to bring home, but parents/guardians may email me and I will email the forms directly to them. (4th Grade will be starting at a later date.)
One of our school buses was in an accident this morning; however, we are very thankful that there were NO students on the bus. There were no reported injuries.
Rome buses are running a little behind schedule this morning! We are working on getting routes covered!
The baseball game scheduled for today, August 15th, against Opdyke has been cancelled. Softball practice for tonight has also been cancelled.
We regret to inform everyone that the bounce houses and outside activities scheduled for tonight have been canceled due to the weather. We would still LOVE to see everyone at Open House from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Rome’s Back to School Night is this evening the Booster Club and Athletic Department will both have tables in the halls. Please stop by the Booster table to purchase some Rome merchandise! Mr. Smith will have a table with important information about sports for the upcoming school year and to answer any of your questions. There will be a packet of forms for any parent whose child wishes to participate in sports activities from 3rd grade to 8th grade.
Boys Cross Country Tryouts will be Friday, August 16 from 3:30 to 5:00
Girls Cross Country Tryouts will be Friday, August 16 from 5:00 to 6:30
Tryouts will also be Saturday, August 17 for both boys and girls from
8:00 - 9:30.
Ready or Not....
Our first full day of school is TOMORROW with a 3:15 p.m. dismissal.
We will have bounce houses and activities outside from 5:00-6:00 followed by Open House from 6:00-7:00!

As we begin a new school year, it is a pleasure to introduce our newest Rome team members.
Tracie Steward comes to us with many years of teaching experience. She is our new 8th grade teacher and is eager to meet her new students.
Michelle Hoffman has taught Kindergarten for several years and is very excited to begin a new school year at Rome.
Vicki Brudnicki and Ralyn Longley are both joining us as paraprofessionals this year. We know they will have a positive impact on the Rome students.
Dottie Dalaney is also joining us this school year as a custodian. She is thrilled to be part of the Rome team, and we are thrilled to have her as well.
