IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SARAH MELLOTT, ROME SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR
Several schools across the State have received calls about possible threats today; however, Rome did not receive a call. We were advised by authorities to implement a soft lockdown. All students have been indoors and will remain indoors for the remainder of the day as a precautionary measure. We have since been notified that there is no longer an active threat.
Please know that we take these situations very seriously as the safety of all students and staff is our top priority.
We would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and our SRO, Deputy Smith, for their communication and guidance this morning.

Central City Volleyball Tournament.

There will not be a bus for this tournament.
8:00 am-Central City vs Rome
8:45 am- Summersville vs Iuka
9:30 am- Central City vs Summersville
10:15 am-Rome vs Iuka
11:00 am- Central City vs Iuka
11:45 am- Summersville vs Rome

All after school practices are cancelled due to the early dismissal.
The Volleyball game at St. Mary’s is ON! Players need to be back at the school to catch the bus at 3:45 p.m

Due to an unforeseen heating mechanical error, we are forced to dismiss school early today, February 2, 2023. Students will eat lunch at school today and be dismissed at 12:30. Buses will run today. We do apologize for this inconvenience.

We will have Winter Sports photos Wednesday, February 8th! Please make sure that you bring all uniforms and necessary equipment.

Due to poor road conditions, Rome Grade School will utilize an E-Learning day tomorrow, January 31st. If you would like to request a school lunch for your child, please email Mrs. Mellott at smellott@rome2.net or let your child’s teacher know by 10:00 a.m. Lunches will be ready for pickup between 12:00 and 12:30 on the east side of the school building.
