Today's softball game vs Willow Grove/St. Mary's has been cancelled. The softball team will have practice after school from 3:30-5:00. The baseball game is still on for today against Willow Grove/St. Mary's.

Rome Grade School will conduct our annual Law Enforcement Drill on Friday, August 29, in cooperation with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
A letter with information about the drill was sent home with students last week and is also attached to this post for your review. The letter includes a provision for parents/guardians who wish to opt their child out of participating in the drill.

Due to heat concerns, the baseball game scheduled for tonight at Rome vs Summersville has been cancelled. Softball will be played at 6:00pm at Cusumono's Field in Mt. Vernon. There will be no bus.

We are getting very close to the beginning of our athletic seasons at Rome! Please make sure that if you attend any event, you utilize the Rome parking lot.

School starts next week and we have some new faces in the building!
We are excited to welcome Mr. Carson Williams to our Rome Grade School family. He will be teaching 4th grade for the 2026-2027 school year! We’re so glad to have Mr. Williams at Rome and can't wait to see all the great things he will accomplish.
We are also excited to welcome Ms. Linnea Waggoner to Rome. She is Rome's new Band, Orchestra, Chorus, and General Music teacher. With her extensive music experience, we are sure to see great things from Ms. Waggoner and the Rome students.

Nurse April will be at a table in front of the gym for a brief period on the first day of school to accept medication forms and medication. If there have been any changes in your child's health condition over the summer, please call or email her prior to the 1st day of school.
If your child has a food allergy, the state requires the completion of a Meal Modification form annually. The form must be completed and on file at school prior to the 1st day of student attendance. Attached is a copy of this form.
