A few friendly reminders:
* We will be outside for recess as much as we can. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately in layers! As the weather continues to change coats, hats, and gloves are encouraged!
* Gym shoes are required for indoor PE. Please make sure that your child's P.E. shoes fit. Gym shoes do not need to be new, but do need to be clean and not worn outside!

Vacancy Notice
Mark your calendars for the annual Veterans Day Breakfast and Program! It will be held on Monday, November 10th, 2025! Breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the program will follow! Parents be watching for forms to come home to include your Veteran in our list of names! Veteran names are due by November 5th.
Rome Grade School was placed on lockdown for approximately 30 minutes this morning as a precautionary measure by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. At no time was there a direct threat to the school. The lockdown was implemented out of an abundance of caution. The safety of students and staff remains our top priority.

The Rome Shootout is this Saturday, October 25th! Games begin at 9:00am.
The Rome Tournament is coming up in November! Games will be held November 3rd-November 7th.

LAST CALL FOR DENTAL SAFARI
The Dental Safari dentist will be at Rome on Wednesday, October 29th to do dental exams on any student who has returned a dental consent form. All students in Kindergarten, 2nd and 6th grades are required to submit a current dental exam form. The exam Dental Safari does will meet the state requirement. You can access the consent form online at DentalSafariForms.com or by scanning the QR code on the attached brochure. The deadline to turn in your child's completed consent form is this Friday, October 24th.
Cross Country Shirt Update!!
We want to apologize to everyone who purchased a cross country shirt. We are aware of the mistake in the printing, and we've been working closely with wilfords to make this right!!
Wilford's has agreed to remake every shirt that was printed. The new shirts will be sent home with the students on Friday October 24th.

Registration for the Rome Cheer Clinic for grades Prek-4 is open until October 16th! Turn in forms and money to your child's teacher!
Congrats to our 2025 Rome Cross Country Regional teams! The regional race will be at the Mt. Vernon Outland Airport Wednesday, October 8 and will begin at 5:00 PM with the Varsity Girls race. Everyone, be sure to come out and support our teams!
