Please make note of a change to the school calendar. There will now be a Noon Dismissal (12:00 p.m.) on Monday, April 8th due to the anticipated volume of extra traffic and people in the area for the solar eclipse.

The games for tonight at the 7th Grade Woodlawn Basketball Tournament have been canceled. There are no make up dates at this time.

The PeeWee games scheduled for Saturday, February 10 will be played at Dodds School. (14975 E Bakerville Road, Mt. Vernon IL) The 4th grade girls tournament will still be played in Fairfield.

Here is some information for those planning to attend the Rome vs. Central City game at Rend Lake College: Section 7. During all Regional and State contests the SIJHSAA prohibits the use of all types of noise-makers, confetti, radios, shakers, poms(unless used by cheerleaders), rally towels, thunder sticks, camera lights, laser lights, and also tripods in the stands. Signs must be no larger than a legal sized sheet of paper. (8 1/2 X 14) Body painting materials shall not be administered at games or containers brought on game sites. Body paint may be worn on arms and the face. Appropriate shirts must be worn to all events.

Due to the e-learning day today, January 22nd, all practices and after school activities are canceled.

Due to the forecast of ice and potential for poor road conditions, Rome Grade School will utilize an E-Learning day tomorrow, January 22nd. If you would like to request a school lunch for your child, please email Mrs. Mellott at smellott@rome2.net or let your child’s teacher know by 10:00 a.m. Lunches will be ready for pickup between 12:00 and 12:30 on the east side of the school building.

For those attending the Rome PeeWee games at Bluford tomorrow- From Bluford AD: Water is back on in Bluford, however there is a boil water order, therefore EVERYONE is to bring bottled water for drinking purposes. Tell everyone coming to game. Restrooms are good for use.

Due to the e-learning day at Rome, all practices for Tuesday cancelled. The boys will still play Tuesday night at the Woodlawn Tournament.

Rome CCSD2 will be taking an E-learning day on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, due to the extreme windchill and the potential of snow moving into the area.
