The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department responded to an incident near Dix this afternoon. As a precautionary measure, Rome Grade School was placed on lockdown. At no time was there a direct threat to the school or its students, and the lockdown was implemented out of an abundance of caution. The safety of students and staff remains our top priority.

Reminder! The Washington D.C. trip meeting for current 6th and 7th grade families is tonight in the library at 6 p.m.

A letter went out to girls interested in softball for next school year. There was an error on that note about one of the times. Here is the softball schedule for open fields and tryouts:

Rome CCSD2 will be dismissing students at 2:30 p.m. today, May 16, 2025. All after school activities are canceled.
Just a reminder...Graduation will be held this evening, May 14th at 7:00 p.m. The gym doors will open at 6:00 p.m.

Baseball Tryouts for Friday, May 9th have been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 13th from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
This is a reminder that track practice today, May 5, is only for State qualifiers and those attending the meet tomorrow. We will also be ending practice today at 4:30.
Spring Concert!
Rome CCSD#2 has one vacancy on the Board of Education. The vacancy is for an Unexpired, 2-Year Term. The appointed candidate will serve on the Board of Education until the next school board election which is in April of 2027. At that time, the candidate may run for election. Interested individuals may submit a letter of interest to the Rome School Board at board@rome2.net. by Friday, May 16, 2025.
Baseball open field is canceled for today and will be rescheduled for next Tuesday, May 6th from 3:30-5:00.
There will be NO TRACK PRACTICE today, May 1st.
