The final Boys Basketball open gym is tomorrow Friday, August 29, 6:30-8:00. Tryouts will be held September 2-3 6:30-8:00.
Reminder of Sportsmanship at Sporting Events
This is just a reminder of the importance of sportsmanship at all of our athletic contests. Please keep in mind that you do not know who is listening when comments are made about players on the other team, players on our team, coaches, and officials. Rome School and the SIJHSAA are working to make sure we provide the best environment for players on both teams to perform their best. Thank you and we look forward to the entire year of athletics at Rome Grade School.

Cross Country practice for today, Thursday, August 28th, will end at 4:30 p.m.
Just a reminder! This Friday, August 29th, is a 12:00 Dismissal! There is also No School on Monday, September 1st, for Labor Day!
We are excited to be entering a new era involving your child's lunch money! There is now an option to pay ONLINE! All you need is a TeacherEase account!
If you are currently not set up on TeacherEase, we encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher, and we can add you into the system! TeacherEase is extremely valuable; not only to replenish lunch accounts, but also to check grades and contact teachers!
If paying online is not for you, you can still send lunch/breakfast money in with your child. However, we ask that you only send payment by check from this point forward.

Athletic Update for August 19
Due to the heat, the softball game at Bluford will now start at 6:00pm. There will be no bus to the game.
Baseball will be from 6:00-7:30
Cross Country will practice at their scheduled time but will be inside the gym

Due to the heat, practices for softball and cross country have been cancelled for today, Monday, August 18. Cheerleading will still have their scheduled practice for tonight. More information about baseball practice to follow. Baseball players, please check Game Changer for information on your practice. Sorry for the late notice and please keep an eye out for updates on the Rome Facebook page and Rome app.

Congratulations to the 2025 Rome Cross Country team! Practices start Monday! Email Coach Wilson with any questions.
Our new music teacher, Mr. Nollman, met with students from grades 5-8 today that were interested in joining the band program at Rome! This flyer was given to all students who attended the meeting. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out to Mr. Nollman at jnollman@rome2.net.

💚Bounce Houses will be located on the playground!
💛Booster Club will have a table set up with t-shirts and magnets for sale AND a basket raffle!
💚Rome Calendars will be for sale! Proceeds go towards the junior high trip to Washington D.C.
💛 Please make sure to find your child's teacher and sign a Google consent form for your child! This will allow your child to use their Google account and computer in the classroom. (This applies to ALL students)
