At the beginning of the school year we hosted a Back to School night! We had bounce houses, food trucks, the playground ribbon cutting, and a "Meet and Greet" with the teachers to kick off the new school year! Congratulations to the 2023-2024 Cheer Squad! 💛💚
Kindergarten and 1st grade have been working on perfecting their shoe tying skills in PE class over the last couple of weeks. As of yesterday, EVERY student completed tying their shoes on their own! Congratulations to each and every one of them! They’ve worked so hard to accomplish this goal and succeeded! We started out PE today with a special program and they were able to walk across the stage, receive their certificate and say their name into the microphone! 👟 💚💛
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM SARAH MELLOTT, ROME SENIOR ADMINISTRATOR
Several schools across the State have received calls about possible threats today; however, Rome did not receive a call. We were advised by authorities to implement a soft lockdown. All students have been indoors and will remain indoors for the remainder of the day as a precautionary measure. We have since been notified that there is no longer an active threat.
Please know that we take these situations very seriously as the safety of all students and staff is our top priority.
We would like to thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and our SRO, Deputy Smith, for their communication and guidance this morning.
